See How They Think - 9 Strategies (SEE-3)
SHTT provides teachers with a visual tool that animates the steps a skilled reader uses to process troublesome text. Students will watch as readers read and think-aloud, modeling how they use the strategy in everyday reading. Through sounds, colorful animated illustrations, and video clips students watch and learn how a skilled reader uses strategies to make sense of text. The key cognitive thinking strategies include: predict, ask, connect, visualize, summarize, clarify (define new words), reread and retell. Each strategy lesson is written to enable the teacher to introduce, model, and practice the strategy within 20-30 minutes. Each strategy lesson includes a script allowing the teacher to preview the text before instruction. Flexible design enables teachers to take over modeling the lesson at anytime without interruption.
