Our Story - About Educational Bridge

To begin, we want to share how two educators discovered approaches to effectively raise the reading ability and performance of struggling readers in low performing schools and then taught other teachers to do the same thing. These educators, Pamela Robberson and Mario Campanaro, while no longer in the classroom, are still teaching. They are teaching educators around the country how to deliver the results that high stakes tests demand by developing lifelong readers.

Pamela began her career teaching Kindergarten and First grade, later teaching Reading Recovery working with at risk first graders, Dyslexic students and low IQ students. She learned her craft well as most of the low performing youngsters exited the program successfully and continued to keep pace on level with their peers. As a result, when the more demanding State Testing came along and all teachers and administrators began to panic, she was asked to take responsibility for making certain that all teachers and students in the district were proficient.

As a result, she had to teach other teachers to do what she had become so very good at doing-getting results. And more importantly, as teachers you will appreciate this, getting results while ensuring that the students she worked with became lifelong readers who enjoyed and appreciated reading. Her journey led to the founding of Educational Bridge (EB).

Mario Campanaro began his career in education as a teacher in an inner city high school in Chicago, Illinois. He later taught reading and social studies to learning disabled high school students before leaving teaching to pursue his passion for the research and publishing of reading materials. He is the founder of Celebration Press and the Argus Education Division. He has held positions in senior management with DLM and The Wright Group. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, his master's degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and his doctoral studies at Texas A&M University - Commerce.

Mario has brought years of experience in education, research, and training to EB. His leadership has enabled EB to provide research, instructional materials, and training to teachers and districts across the country to develop proficient readers.
